Accessibility

Hello! I'm going to break the fourth wall here a bit and note this is the webmaster speaking. I have made a concentrated effort to make this site as accessible as possible, but I understand the background, colors, and other factors can make it difficult to navigate for some people still. So, I'm going to use this page to describe some of the accessibility options available on the site. If you are having any accessibility problems with the site, please send a message in the groupme or email me directly at [email protected]. So, here is a brief overview of accessibility features.

I have tried my best to design the site to be used as-is with screenreaders, including going over it myself with my phone's screenreader (Talkback). That being said, I do not know how other screenreaders work so if anyone has issues please email me as noted above.

The site currently responds to your system-wide settings for using dark/light theming. I will add a button to toggle eventually, but admittedly, it is a low priority, so if you do find yourself needing one please email me and I'll add one in as soon as possible. If you're otherwise having problem reading or navigating please also email me and I will address any of your concerns as soon as I can. I have chosen not to have a separate "lite" version of the site do to concerns around committing maintenance time to two different versions of the site, to this end I have added a button at the top of each page that disables the background image at least (requires Javascript to be enabled).

I have tried to keep the site usable with high magnification (and zoom), please let me know if it's not.

I know the links leave a lot to be desired in terms of being big enough to click on in many pages, my apologies. I'm going to get around to finding an alternative solution soon, but until then I recommend zooming the pages. If you have any issues please email me, I'd be happy to add quick fixes to accommodate you. Thank you.
